Front-end Engineer (Web Developer and Operations Support):

• Qualification:

B.S degree or higher, preferably in Computer Science.

• Necessary Skills:

  AJAX/JavaScript (Object Oriented JavaScript)

  Experience with Prototype, Script.aculo.us

  CSS, HTML/XHTML/W3C DOM

  XML/XSLT

  Proficiency with the LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, Perl/PHP), JSP, Tomcat

  Experience with a Web Framework like Ruby on Rails/PHP/Python+Django or equivalent

  Prior experience architecting Websites with Social Networking features (like MySpace, Facebook, Yahoo! 360, Orkut, Friendster, hi5 etc).

  S/W Engineering best practices

• Bonus skills:

Basic Java

Experience with Facebook Application Development

Experience with online video playback

Browser extension/plugin development for Firefox and Internet Explorer

Flash and Action Script skills.

Experience with UI frameworks such as XUL, Flex, and XAML a plus

Experience with troubleshooting Hardware and Software issues and providing IT/Platform support.

Basic Linux System Administration Skills.

• Responsibilities:

Helping to define the user model and user interface for new and existing features.

Develop functional prototypes/mockups to demonstrate concepts rapidly

Develop cross-platform front-end code in CSS/XHTML, JavaScript, and AJAX.

Provide help desk and IT/Platform support for day-to-day production operations

Ensure data security, backup and recovery

Schedule regular updates and maintenance for production systems.

Likely Profile of Successful Candidate:

The successful is candidate is very likely to satisfy one more of the following criteria.

Prior experience architecting Websites with Social Networking features (like MySpace, Facebook, Youtube, Yahoo! 360, Orkut, Friendster, hi5 etc).

Prior experience building mashups using third party APIs from Yahoo!, Google, Amazon etc, and facebook applications

Deep expertise in AJAX and javascript tools and libraries like Prototype, Script.aculo.us etc.
